The Relining Process

1

CCTV Survey

We inspect the drain by camera to confirm the pipe is suitable for relining and to measure the affected length precisely.

2

High-Pressure Jetting

The pipe is thoroughly cleaned using high-pressure water jetting to remove all debris, roots and scale before lining.

3

Liner Insertion

A resin-saturated flexible liner is pulled or inverted into the existing pipe, covering the full length of the damaged section.

4

Curing

The liner is inflated and the resin cured — either by UV light, ambient temperature or hot water, depending on the system used.

5

Final CCTV Inspection

A camera check confirms the liner has cured correctly and the pipe is fully restored. We provide a written completion certificate.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is drain relining?
Drain relining (also known as CIPP — Cured In Place Pipe lining) is a method of repairing damaged or cracked drains from the inside, without the need for excavation. A resin-impregnated liner is inserted into the existing pipe and then cured hard, forming a new structural pipe within the old one.
How long does drain relining last?
Our drain relining carries a 10-year guarantee and has a design life of 50 years or more. The new liner is actually stronger than the original clay or concrete pipe and fully resistant to root intrusion.
Is drain relining better than replacement?
In most cases, yes. Relining is faster, less disruptive and usually cheaper than digging up and replacing pipes. It avoids damage to driveways, gardens and foundations, and the finished liner is actually stronger than the original pipe.
Can all drains be relined?
Most drain pipes can be relined, including clay, concrete, PVC and cast iron. We will carry out a CCTV inspection first to assess suitability — some severely collapsed or misaligned pipes may still require excavation.
How long does drain relining take?
A typical domestic drain relining job takes between 2 and 6 hours depending on the length of the affected run. We can reline the majority of domestic drains in a single day with minimal disruption to your household.
How much does drain relining cost?
Costs vary depending on the pipe diameter, length of the repair and access. We provide a fixed written quote after CCTV inspection — no estimates that grow once work has started. Call 07887 212 447 to arrange a survey.
